Our CongregationTrinity is a congregation of Christians belonging to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. As members of the Body of Christ, the Church, we have been planted in Huntley to preach the Good News of Jesus as Savior; to teach the truth from His Word, the Bible; and to reach out with His love in touching the lives of others.
We preach the word as we gather to worship to hear His Word and sing His praises on Saturdays, at 5:30 p.m. and Sundays at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. We offer special holiday worship opportunities throughout the year.
We teach the truth of His Word through Sunday school and Adult Bible Study. Grades 3rd – high school and adults meet at 9:15 a.m. Children preschool age 3 – 2nd grade meet during the 10:30 a.m. worship time. We offer Adult Information Classes (AIC) about what we believe, teach, and confess as well as other Bible study opportunities throughout the year. See our calendar for offerings, dates, and times.
We are a ChristCare and Stephen Ministry congregation. ChristCare small groups are where individuals participate in four basic activities: community building and care, Biblical Equipping, prayer and worship, and missional service. These activities provide nurturing in a supportive environment where each person grows in faith, love and service. The Bible tells us, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32) “Stephen Ministry is a one on one caring ministry to people who are hurting by trained and supervised Stephen Ministry caregivers. The Bible tells us to “Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2) Our trained caregivers give “care,” but it is God who is the Curegiver. The Bible invites you to “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you.” (Psalm 55:22a) A Stephen Minister will walk with you on your journey to wholeness.
We reach out with His love to others. We respond to those in need of food and clothing by giving through various local and national distribution centers. We also meet the needs of people in our community in special ways. We serve at the Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS) program. We participate in Faith in Action serving the needs of the homebound. We serve at Bethesda Thrift Store in Crystal Lake where clothing and other goods are offered at bargain prices. This retail ministry benefits the mentally challenged at Bethesda’s Wisconsin campus and numerous group homes in Illinois and neighboring states.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34, 35)
We invite you to join us at Trinity as we grow in His word, learn from His word and learn to love one another as He has loved us. |
